Blessed are the poor in spirit,

For theirs is the kingdom of heaven

The Untold Story: Moria(h) in Scripture

Dubbed by the media as Hell on Earth, Moria was Europe's most notorious refugee camp.

But did you know there is an untold story?

Ever since Europe's refugee crisis began, an unprecedented movement to Christ of Muslim-background believers has been unfolding on Lesvos and in Greece.

Back in 2019 God highlighted to us how Moria(h) in Genesis 22 is a place of testing. A place where faith is refined in the fire.

We've witnessed first hand the desperation of refugees living in horrible conditions who've left everything behind, only to be rejected in Europe.

We've also heard Him ask "is My arm too short?" And so we declare in faith then as now:

On the mount of the LORD it shall be provided

So Abraham called the name of that place, “The LORD will provide”; as it is said to this day, “On the mount of the LORD it shall be provided.”

A Crown of Beauty for Ashes

Our God is not mocked. â€‹

Less than 24 hours after buying our www.lifeinmoria.com domain, Moria camp burned down.

Nevertheless we stand convicted that His promise still stands. We believe He has many in this city, and not a single one of His chosen will be lost.

Today "Moria 2.0" is called Mavrovouni, which translates as Black Hill.

And so we've made it our habit to circle this camp in prayer each and every week prophesying Isaiah 60: Arise, shine for your light has come!

A House of Prayer for all Nations

They will come to the Desire of All Nations.

Despite the evidence of our eyes, we confess our God to be holy and awesome. His will is to bless the poor in spirit, those who mourn, the meek and those who hunger and thirst for righteousness.

Today we're believing for a revival in a refugee camp.

We're praying for the greatest miracle of them all; eternal life in Him.

We're praying for 3,000 to be baptised in a day (Acts 2).

And even more than this, that the whole of Lesvos would become a "thin place" and place of refuge in times of Great Tribulation.

We know our God is faithful and true, always keeping His promises. And so, for His name's sake, we won't stop asking until He does what He has promised to do.

LORD, make these nations Your inheritance, even here, even now.

He shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.

A truly historic Jesus Movement in Greece and the Middle East.

We believe that global missions and the End Times prayer and worship movements are converging. â€‹

Our conviction is that the set time is at hand:

He will come as the rain, and He will come on the clouds!

But this isn't only for Muslim-background believers. And it isn't all about the local Greeks or reviving Orthodoxy either.

We believe God desires every empty vessel to be filled by this grace outpouring; an outpouring that may begin in a refugee camp but will not stop there.

We believe what happens on Lesvos will impact the nations.

And so we're standing on His promises in the midst of humanitarian catastrophe, learning to live with childlike faith as in Acts 2:42 and praying Maranatha, come Lord Jesus!

Letts Go to Lesvos

Our founders and only full time intercessory missionaries are Marcus and Emily Letts. Together with our 3 sons Seth (8), Lucas (5) and Daniel (2) we're learning to live and love like Jesus, step by step and stumble by stumble!

When we responded to God’s call to come and live on Lesvos we heard Him say “build my house.”

We’ve learned the hard way not to try to build it, but better to let Him grow it! It’s like He’s commissioned us to stay here and watch with me.

As a homeschooling family living life on mission it's not always easy, especially in the "simple" things! And yet we've learned He's worth every struggle and hiccup. Following Jesus is better than anything we could've thought or imagined, better even than life itself (Psalm 63).

Thanks for taking the time to learn about what God is doing in our lives and in this House of Prayer.

If you feel a Holy Spirit stirring and desire to come alongside us, whether in prayer or service or giving, we say yes and amen.

Let it be Lord!
